When it Rains, it Pours...

If you would have asked me two days ago what I would be writing about these last couple of days it would go something like this...
"I had my official start of work. Completing my first couple of shifts and it went great! Life is amazing and I'm more relaxed than I have ever been!"
Instead these last couple of days have been extremely unexpected and stressful. Remember on January 8 when I went for a drug test?? Turns out I guzzled back too much water in fear of not being able to properly take the test that on Thursday I learned my test came back inconclusive... Awkward to say the least... On Thursday I had to immediately head back to the hospital and take another urine drug test to make sure that me, yes me, the girl who has never so much as looked at drugs was not a raging drug addict.
Moral of the story is, I cannot attend any Disney work related training until this dumb drug test has been cleared, therefore pushing back my entire work schedule by at least week.
I am extremely frustrated by this outcome and honestly Disney has been less than helpful in assisting me through the process of re-taking my drug test. Even though I have been told multiple times by both Disney employees and hospital staff that the test most likely came back inconclusive due to too much water being in my system. They have outcasted me from properly beginning the job I applied for and have been waiting to begin for years.
Tomorrow (Monday) is a holiday here so I won't hear anything from Disney about next steps in my onboarding and training until Tuesday. For now I stay in an uncomfortable state of limbo.
Dad sadly left today back to the severe weather of Canada where, after landing in Calgary, he learned his next flight to Kelowna had been cancelled and automatically re-booked for three days later. He has decided to rent a car tomorrow and drive from Calgary back home through the icy and wintery conditions. Hopefully all goes well and he will be reunited with Cole and Truffle soon.
Another unfortunate and weird update is that my roommate Diana from Puerto Rico was fired yesterday after creating a "magical moment" for a fellow cast-member. Code for she gave away something for free to another castmemebr while on shift. She had to pack up and leave within a day or two after getting terminated. Harsh.
It hasn't all been negative here. Mom and I enjoyed our day today by going to a few of the resorts around Disney property and exploring the shops and cafes. The Polynesian Resort, the Grand Floridian Resort and the Contemporary Resort. All beautiful and lavishly decorated we enjoyed exploring the many shops and scouting out all the cute merchandise I want to buy.
This has been quite a long post but I wanted to air out my frustrations about the last couple of days.
Thank you for listening

I'm sure you'll look back on the last couple of days and smile once you get into the routine over the next few weeks or so. It's bad luck if everything goes 100% smoothly...so I'm sure that everything will work out for you!
If everything went too smoothly your blog wouldn't be as interesting! I'm sure they will get everything worked out, and you will be working before you know it, enjoy this extra time with your mom.
