January 8- The big day has come. Move in day is here! The largest move-in day Flamingo Crossings Village history, I was one of what seemed to be hundreds of other participants who navigated the busy grounds figuring out their new home turf.
After getting my photo taken for my ID badge, I was assigned building D for Doc from Snow White. Walking into my new apartment for the first time my roommates where busy at work but did leave me the cutest welcome gift filled with candy, tide pods, fuzzy socks and earrings! they all chipped in creating the welcome gift complete with a note and their phone numbers. I really appreciated their kindness, plus the common areas of the apartment are very clean and nicely decorated. I'm excited to actually meet them!
My room ( fittingly room B for Brynn) is on the first floor with a not exciting view of one of the many alleyways around the campus. First floor living wouldn't have been my first choice but as Dad said "you don't need to worry about carrying groceries up any stairs". Thanks Dad. My room is a nice size and I'm looking forward to decorating it in the coming days.
The rest of my day consisted of finishing off my authorization work documents, looking around the property and going through a drug test. Not my favourite event in the day, but I was able to meet some other Cultural Representative participants from both France and Norway on my bus ride to the clinic.
A tiring and super eventful day in the books! I have a couple much quieter days coming up where I will take advantage of time by shopping for supplies to outfit my room.
Stay Tuned!
xoxo
