"Do you work here" a guest asked me while I was actively greeting guests into the theatre in full costume with my name tag on. "Canada doesn't share a boarder with the United States, does it"? "Oh you're from Canada! How do you say my name in Canadian?".

Sometimes this job isn't real life. There's no way I just got asked those questions by full grown American adults at 2:00pm on a Tuesday but here we are, which is why I look forward to exploring outside the magnified dramatic Disney bubble and seeing other parts of Florida. Luckily I was able to do just that this past weekend when a couple of the girls from work, Carmen, Alisha, Amber and I drove to downtown Winter Garden for the day with a mission of blending in with the locals. Our mission quickly failed when the first boutique owner pegged us as Disney Cultural Representatives and therefore far from locals. Our obvious THICK Canadian accent I swear don't exist blew our cover.

Winter Garden is the closest town to where I live, being only about a 30 minute drive from Flamingo Crossings. A Hallmark Home for the Holidays town with boutiques, cafe's, bookstores and the occasionally all American flare with random gun shaped slingshots, golf carts driving on the streets and SO MANY good o'l red, white and blue everything everywhere. Between shopping, eating and people watching our day flew by in Winter Garden before we headed back to Flamingo Crossings.

The next was all about fun in the sun. Taking advance of the plus 30 degree weather we have been having lately going to Disney's Blizzard Beach waterpark sounded right. Keep in mind this month is full of spring breaks throughout the U.S, this week being Florida's turn so the Disney area has been very busy and Blizzard Beach was no exception. Carmen, Alisha and I were still able to do a couple of slides despite the long lines. My favourite being an enclosed tube slide. Plus the theming of Blizzard Beach was so fun, an abounded ski mountain we took an actual chairlift up to the top of the slides. Of course I din't tan but I also didn't burn so I'll take that as a win.

There is never a dull moment here. I think I have only been bored a total of twice since moving here. I am learning to appreciate the quieter moments to myself more than ever. Listening to music with a coffee writing my blog has become a therapeutic activity and something I look forward to. I hope you enjoy reading these as much as I do writing them!

till next time, love you <3

A perk of my late night shifts, I see the pavilion clear of guests and pretty Canada lit up.

Such a quaint little town, tree lined streets and amazing weather, I'm excited to go back!

Rooftop patio, we had Mexican food for dinner, 10/10 vibes, 6/10 food, haha.

Still the same level of white since being in Kelowna in the dead of winter in January...

You can see the chairlift in the middle of the park. I thought it was such a cool touch.
